It will make a difference towards a better world if you could take a few minutes to share your opinion.  My name is Shariq Siddiqui and I am trying to help nonprofits make smarter decisions to be more effective at their fundraising strategies.  I recorded this video from my home this morning just so you can learn more about it and be inspired to complete the survey.

Thank You

PS:  Sorry about the low production quality, I’m working on getting a new phone. :) Links to surveys below!

BUT HURRY, to provide guidance to nonprofits this Ramadan, we are only surveying this week.

There are two surveys.

This survey is for individuals and it aims to learn about Individual Muslim giving.

This survey is for nonprofit institutions and aims to learn about what they are going through.

Still not convinced?  Here is some more detail to help you feel really comfortable and hopefully really inspire you to contribute:

The Center on Muslim Philanthropy (CMP) and the Muslim Philanthropy Initiative (MPI) at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, IUPUI, want to better understand the greatest needs of the nonprofit sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The responses you provide here will inform government officials, funders, media, and other decision makers. This survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete.

All responses are confidential. The results will only be shared in aggregate and your identity will not be linked to your responses.

This survey is designed to preferably be taken by Executive Directors/CEOs or a senior leader in your organization who has an overall understanding of your operations. If that is not you, please share this survey with an appropriate person at your organization. We understand your time is precious and thank you for participating.

Thank you for agreeing to participate in our research. This research is for residents of the United States over the age of 18; if you are not a resident of the United States and/or under the age of 18, please do not complete this survey. All provided information will be kept confidential. There are minimal risks associated with this study.

Participation in this study is voluntary. The first 500 survey participants will receive a $5 Amazon gift card. In addition, two nonprofits who respond to the survey will be randomly selected to receive a $500 donation. This study is being conducted by Shariq Siddiqui ( and colleagues at Indiana University, University of Washington, The University of Texas at Dallas, and California Lutheran University.

You may direct questions you have about this study to Dr. Siddiqui. All research on human volunteers is reviewed by a committee that works to protect your rights and welfare. If you have questions or concerns about your rights as a research participant, or if you would like to obtain information or offer input, you may contact the IU Institutional Review Board at or 800-696-2949.
